Paddle The Fjords Of The Sunshine Coast

Sechelt is located on BC’s Sunshine Coast within the traditional territory of the shíshálh Nation, whose people have depended on these sheltered coastal waters for countless generations. The nearby fjord, protected bays, and surrounding forests have long been part of important cultural travel routes and continue to hold deep significance for the shíshálh people today. Paddle BC is continuing to develop paddling information for this area in collaboration with local tourism partners and communities. Our goal is to provide paddlers with detailed route descriptions, curated trip ideas, and local knowledge that helps visitors experience the region responsibly. As these partnerships grow, we look forward to sharing more insights about paddling opportunities in and around Sechelt and the broader Sunshine Coast.
