The legendary 'River of Mists'

The Skeena River is one of the longest un-dammed rivers in the world and a cornerstone of Northern BC’s culture. Flowing through a spectacular mountain landscape, it is famous for its salmon runs and significance to local Indigenous peoples.

Paddling the Skeena is an awe-inspiring journey. You’ll drift past towering peaks and historic Indigenous villages. Wildlife is spectacular, with grizzly bears and bald eagles frequently seen along the river’s gravel bars.

Geographically, the Skeena is a high-volume river subject to significant fluctuations. During the spring freshet, the river can become a powerful torrent carrying large amounts of debris. Paddlers must be skilled at reading the water and navigating shifting gravel bars.
