This spring we’re launching the inaugural Paddle BC Awards, a province-wide celebration of the people, organizations, and businesses that make paddling in British Columbia so special.
The awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the leaders, stewards, and innovators shaping BC’s paddling culture. Categories will recognize achievements in these areas:
- environmental stewardship
- accessibility on the water
- youth leadership
- Indigenous-led paddling experiences
- everyday heroes who keep local paddling communities thriving
This initiative is about telling great paddling stories from across the province. By highlighting outfitters, guides, volunteers, and community champions, Paddle BC hopes to celebrate the values that define paddling here including sustainability, reconciliation, inclusion, and a deep love for BC’s waterways.
The awards campaign officially launches in April, when nominations will open to paddlers, operators, and organizations across British Columbia. From there, finalists will be celebrated and winners announced later in the summer.
If you know someone doing great work on the water, stay tuned. Nominations are coming soon, and Paddle BC will be sharing more details in the weeks ahead.
