Paddle Your Way Through Long Lake’s Serene Waters

Located in the heart of Nanaimo, Long Lake is home to both the Nanaimo Rowing Club and the Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club, offering year-round access for paddlers of all experience levels. The lake features several beach launch points as well as a paved boat launch, providing convenient entry to the water for a variety of activities.

Access: There are some water access points around the lake, however the main beach launch is located at Loudon Park on the south side of the lake. There is ample, free parking located here as well. In addition, there is a partially paved boat launch off the South-West side of the lake with limited parking.

Experiences: Long Lake provides an ideal setting for a leisurely paddle, offering typically calm waters throughout the year for a peaceful experience. It’s also a well-known bird-watching destination, attracting a diverse range of resident and migratory bird species, making it a favourite spot for nature enthusiasts.
