Play Where the North and South Thompson Rivers Meet

Kamloops is located within the traditional territory of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, part of the larger Secwépemc Nation who have lived along these rivers and lakes for thousands of years. The confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers has long been an important gathering place and travel corridor, with canoe routes connecting communities throughout the region. These waterways continue to hold cultural and historical significance for Secwépemc peoples today. Paddle BC is continuing to develop partnerships with local tourism organizations to expand the paddling information available for this area. Our goal is to share local knowledge that help paddlers explore responsibly. As these collaborations grow, we look forward to highlighting more paddling opportunities in and around Kamloops.
