A mountain-rimmed gem in the heart of Hope

Hope for a beautiful day on the lake, and Kawkawa will deliver. Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscape of British Columbia’s Cascade Mountains, Kawkawa Lake is a former provincial park and offers exploration and fishing by canoe, kayak or paddleboard. Located 2.4 km north east of Hope, Kawkawa Lake Park has a large day-use area with toilets, picnic tables, and small boat launch.  With rentals conveniently available at Hope Kayak and Paddle Board Rentals, Kawkawa Lake is an excellent spot to spend the day enjoying the rugged beauty of the Cascade Mountains. Silver Creek and Nicolum River Provincial Park are nearby as well as a number of private campgrounds in Hope. The Cascade Mountains surrounding Hope, BC, are a breathtaking wilderness teeming with diverse wildlife. In these rugged landscapes, you may encounter black bears, deer, and elk and the lake provides great kokanee salmon fishing. Bald eagles and ospreys can also be spotted looking above.
