A maze of islands in the shadow of the mainland mountains

The Broughton Archipelago is a spectacular marine provincial park near Johnstone Strait. It is a labyrinth of islands and sheltered passages offering some of the best sea kayaking in the world. The area is famous for abundant wildlife and ancient forests.

The marine environment is incredibly productive, with whales and sea lions frequently spotted. Paddlers can explore hidden bays and rocky islets and stay at marine park campsites only accessible by boat. Grizzly bears are also common in the area.

Geographically, the Broughton Archipelago is a complex environment. Paddlers must be aware of tides, currents, and wind conditions. It is a place that offers a profound sense of solitude and wilderness for serious coastal explorers.
