A glacial cradle beneath the highest peak in the Rockies
Berg Lake is a spectacular glacial-fed body of water at the base of Mount Robson. The lake is famous for its blue water and icebergs that break off from the surrounding glaciers. Accessible via a multi-day hike, it is a bucket list destination.
Paddling on Berg Lake is a truly surreal experience. You can glide past floating icebergs and enjoy views of the Berg Glacier as it spills into the lake. The environment is high-alpine and wild, with mountain goats and marmots inhabiting the slopes.
Geographically, Berg Lake is a dynamic and cold environment. The weather can be extreme, and the lake is subject to sudden wind events. Because it is so remote, paddlers must be well-prepared and self-sufficient for a high-altitude adventure.
