There Are Good Reasons Why This Is One Of The Most Popular Canoe Routes In The Country
Bowron Lake is located in a 1,500-hectare provincial park by the same name and is part of a 116-kilometre-long chain of lakes, waterways and connecting portages. The park is a wildlife sanctuary and canoeists who do the whole circuit pass through a variety of topography and vegetation that are home to home to many animals, including moose, bear, deer, cariboo, wolves, mountain goats, foxes, otters, beaver, and a huge variety of birds, some of which use this area as a rest stop during migration. The full trip around the lakes can take 6 to 10 days or, for a shorter journey, the west side of the circuit can be paddled in 2 to 4 days.
