The Beaver River Is Dam Good.
Located 50 kilometres west of Golden, this river is favourite with canoeists, kayakers and stand up paddleboarders of all abilities. The upper section is for experts only because of the plethora of sweeper trees and log jams, but the middle section offers easier navigation through mellower class I fare. The lower section increases in difficulty somewhat with a couple of short class II features but ultimately intermediate paddlers will enjoy this run with its stunning views and fun water no matter what craft they’re using.
